I Made Second-best Result—Okowa:
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Tuesday, debunked reports that he had no West African Senior School Certificate, disclosing that he made the second-best result in his set in the country in 1976.
There had been reports on social media last week Friday over the missing certificate of Governor Okowa.
However, Okowa said that the issue around the certificate was a wrong perception and unnecessary politics, explaining that virtually all universities in the country offered him admission based on his outstanding performance in WASSCE and Higher School Certificate examinations.

At a press briefing, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Francis Ezeonu, said the figure excluded those who had applied for a review, transfer of polling units and replacement of permanent voter cards (PVCs) as of June 27.
He said that in the first two-quarters of the exercise, which lasted from June to December 2021, the state registered 16,511, out of which 7,145 (43 per cent) were invalid due to double registration.
However, Mr Ezeonu said that following popular demand, the voter registration exercise, which should have ended on June 30, had been extended until further notice.
Rivers govt warns workers against joining planned nationwide protest by NLC
The Rivers State Head of Service, Rufus Godwin, has warned civil servants in the state against joining the planned solidarity protest proposed by the National leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress.
The NLC had last week threatened to embark on a solidarity protest over the failure of the federal government to address the agitations of the striking university lecturers.
But the Head of the Rivers State Civil service on Tuesday convened a meeting with workers where he warned that disciplinary actions will be taken against any worker who joins the industrial action.
