Graham Potter’s return to the Amex Stadium to face his former side isn’t going to plan so far as his team conceded two goals inside the opening 14 minutes against Brighton and Hove Albion.
On the other hand, Chelsea has been impressive under Potter who has done a good job in transforming the team.
Judging from their respective forms, anyone would have easily went for Chelsea to pick up all 3 points today, but unfortunately Brighton handed them an early scare through Leandro Trossard who scored his fifth goal under Roberto De Zerbi to give the Seagulls the lead.
With the Blues still trying to reorganize themselves and get back into the contest, Brighton extended their lead thanks in no small part to Ruben Loftus-Cheek who turned the ball into his own net to pile further misery upon his team and Potter.
And to make matters worse, Trevoh Chalobah who had never lost a Premier League game he started scored an own goal to make it 3-nil in favor of Brighton on the cusp of halftime.
Potter who must have hoped for a warm welcome from the Brighton fanbase was then mocked by the home fans who chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning” towards their former manager.
Not sure how Potter will be feeling
